A sculpture made from layers of curtains that make volume without weight. The curtains are ephemeral yet define volume and presence. Three layers of curtains form a small room. The piece is manually operated; the viewer can change the path through the sculpture. The artist enlists the viewer to experiment with the piece by changing the position of each curtain layer.
It can be open like a pavilion or closed like a den. A mutable volume, the curtains form doors and walls. It is both theatrical and domestic. The mesh membranes create a tonal layered moiré that allows seeing out infused with a color wash. The blocks of color echo rectangular two-dimensional art. It is both minimal and Baroque. The viewer determines the placement of the layers in the room making a mutable journey through the piece.
