These permanent exterior textiles have been placed on the building to comfort it and its users. They recall some of the infill on the old porches that once graced this site. Woven and crocheted to recall curtains, blankets, shawls, and other domestic textiles, these pieces were handmade from stainless steel yarn custom-made in Belgium for this project. Five accomplished weavers, using looms and tools designed especially for this task, did the work here in the Northwest. Utilizing classic hand weaving patterns in a hyper scale, these pieces function as architectural detail.
