Kent Regional Justice Center, Kent, Washington, 1997
Steel, stainless steel, light, paint
30' x 12' x 3'
This project established both a friendlier identity for the Center and better lighting for pedestrian use.
Creating a functional, symbolic entry and driveway with 2 elements flanking the driveway and adding additional lighting using the scales of justice as a theme. A series of stainless-steel sculptures installed along the back lawn, entitled Memory Pins, are slender "ghosts of things that used to be here," including reflections of the industry, agriculture and natural phenomena that have shaped the history of the Green River Valley.
