Matched Makers, guest curated by Vivki Halper, featured 28 Northwest couples who make art - some collaboratively, others separately, in mediums ranging from painting to sculpture, video to embroidery. From early 20th century to contemporary artist couples, a theme runs through this group: they are "happy pairs", in Halper's words, and she wonders if there may be something about the Northwest environment that encourages this supportive creativity.
